According to Eurocode 1, the pressure of wind loads acting on outdoor panels can be modeled as a resultant force normal on the panel, with the application point at the gravitational center of the board with an horizontal eccentricity e = ±.25b.
1. In the Advance Design starting window, click Configuration. In the "Localization settings" window, select the climatic standard EC 1 and correspondingly the "General" National Annex.
2. After defining all the structural elements, create a windwall on the board outline in order to specify how the forces will be generated. In the windwall properties window, in the "Wind" section, select the "Outdoor panel" structure type.
3. Create a new load case family: Wind EN - 1991-1-4.
4. Next select the load case family, "Wind EN - 1991-1-4", and in the properties window, modify the wind speed and the terrain category as specified in the project.
Note:
If the "Building height" is not specified in the wind load case family properties window, Advance Design will automatically determine the structure height from the supports to the top margins of the billboard.
If the "Building height" is not specified in the wind load case family properties window, Advance Design will automatically determine the structure height from the supports to the top margins of the billboard.
5. Right click the load case family in the Pilot and choose "Automatic generation".
The Advance Design climatic generator will generate forces, each one being grouped in a load case corresponding to the wind directions and to the eccentricity sign of the applied loads.
