Shear studs do not appear in any BOMs
Hello,
Shear studs are called connectors in BoM template editor, and in order to have them in lists you need to configure your template to allow the content : Connectors. To do this, you need to right-click on the template name in BoM editor - choose "Report Contents". In this dialog, check : Connectors. You can also see the attached picture for the location of this dialog.

Using AS 2010 on AutoCAD 2010 is there a split screen option?
Hello,
Advance Steel ribbons can be activated together with the AutoCAD ones. This option is available starting with AutoCAD 2009, and the ribbons automatically appear when you switch the workspace to : 2D Drafting & Add notation or 3D Modelling (see the attached picture for the location of the workspace switch option).
Advance Steel 2010 has also Tool Pallets which together with the ribbons provide full access to all AS commands. To enable the tool pallets, you need to go to the Autocad "View" menu, and choose : Tool Pallets. This will activate all the tool pallets (including the AutoCAD ones). In order to isolate only the Advance Steel ones, you need to right click on the tool pallets window and choose : Advance Steel.

How can we handle pressed tubes in Advance steel?
Hello,
The only way to handle pressed tubed in Advance Steel is to set a shrink value to them from their properties dialogue. This will not change anything in the model (the element will keep its initial size), the only place where you will see this difference will be in BoM extracts. Joints will still be created on the initial, not deformed shape of the pressed tube.
More details of how the shrink options works can be found in the following FAQ : What is the shrink option used for?.

How to create a user defined connection
Hello,
There is a feature in Advance Steel called : User Connection which allow the user to save a custom made connection for further use in other models. You can find additional information about it in the documentation : http://www.graitec.info/Common/Downloads/Documentation/AS-UserGuide-2010-EN-metric.pdf at page : 109. In addition, you need to make sure to place the UCS when you want to insert the saved connection in the same relative position you had it when the connection was exported.
